Fitness Events in Kent: Race, Class or Benchmark?
Fitness Events in Kent: Race, Class or Benchmark?
There is no single “best” fitness event. The right choice depends on what you want to take away from it.

If you want a finish line
A run, ride or obstacle event can give you a date to train towards and a straightforward goal: complete the course or improve your time. If that is what motivates you, it may be exactly the right challenge.
A finish time does not, however, tell the whole story. Someone can be quick over one distance and still want to understand their strength, balance or control.
If you want to train with others
A group class can make exercise more social and help you try something new. It is often a good way to build consistency. But unless the session records comparable results, you may leave knowing you worked hard without knowing what to work on next.
If you want a starting point you can revisit
A benchmark is useful when your question is broader than “How fast am I?” At the VITRO Vitality Games in Edenbridge, participants complete ten guided stations covering different aspects of fitness. The station results contribute to a Vitality Score out of 100.
It is not a pass-or-fail judgement or a medical assessment. It is a record of how you performed on the day—something you can use to identify training priorities and compare with a future result.
Choose the outcome before you choose the event
If you want a race time, enter a race. If you want an enjoyable workout, try a class. If you want to understand more than one part of your fitness, explore the VITRO Games.
The next Games is listed for 22 November 2026 at Fortitude Fit Gym, Edenbridge. See the event details or check adult booking availability. If you have a health concern or are unsure whether the event is suitable for you, seek appropriate professional advice before taking part.
